Vectorcardiography in
ischemic heart disease

We have a long experience in using continuous on-line vectorcardiography (VCG) in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD). Nearly all patients, admitted to the CCU have 24-hour VCG registrations. The clinical usefulness of VCG is studied in patients with IHD. Our published data indicate that on-line VCG changes may predict ischemia in a predischarge exercise test and are associated with ischemia, as assessed by dobutamine stress echocardiography, and can be interpreted with low inter- and intra-observer variations. Resent studies using VCG-monitoring during PTCA indicate that VCG monitoring during elective PCI is a promising method for immediate detection of patients with increased risk for procedure-related MI and may identify patients at increased risk of early (within 6 months) revascularization. In patients with unstable angina pectoris and acute myocardial infarction, on-line VCG provides independent prognostic information. We are now the "core lab" for VCG in several intenational multicenter trials. More information at KI

Echocardiography in
ischemic heart disease

We have more than 15 years experience in using echocardiography and Doppler (Echo-Doppler) in scientific studies, involving a large number of diseases such as ischemic heart disease (IHD), heart failure (HF), stroke and hypertension. We have experience in working with Echo-Doppler as "core lab" in several large multi-center trials. Our main interest has been in patients with IHD and HF. The effects of treatment with ACE-inhibition, beta-blocker and calcium channel antagonist on left ventricular function have been evaluated in different trials. More information at KI
